I bought a used Paragon KM24D Heat Treat Oven this weekend. I know it’s not very exciting unless you are a knife maker, but this improves my knife making ability a great deal. In the past I’d have to send out my knives to a blacksmith or someone with an oven like thisĀ  and wait a week or so for them do the job and then have them send me the knives back. Now I can do everything in house. This literally will cut down my knife making time by a week or two. This is a Paragon Knife Making oven that reaches 2000 degrees and is two feet deep which is optimal since I make knives that are 14 and 18 inches long. Anyhow, I don’t know how to use it yet, but a friend of mine is coming by next week to help me program it for the different steels. Eventually, I’ll be offering heat treating services to other knife makers since there is no one who does this in the Austin area.
