We built a concept knife of sorts. Something that combined art and functionality to create a specific type of knife that resembled it’s intended purpose. Thus, the watermelon knife was born. the idea was conceived when I was cutting a watermelon with a small knife. At my house we go through a watermelon a week when they are in season so I decided to build a knife that was especially made for cutting watermelons. It had to be big and sharp. I decided I would try and made the knife look like a watermelon. I used green and red camel for the handle. I used black linen pins and black vulcanized fiber liners. The knife is 15 inches overall w/ a 10 inch blade. Thanks to Jesus Hidalgo Photography for the great photo. www.jesushphoto.com
